Job Title:  Data Security Engineer   

Location:  Davis County- Hybrid within 40 Miles; Remote 40+ miles  

Job-Type:  Direct Hire 

Salary Range: $130,000-145,000 + Annual Bonus 

As a Data Security Engineer, you’ll protect customer and employee data. You’ll work with a hands-on, technical focus to build and operate data security solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments. Your goal is to lead the operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of our data protection technologies. 

What You’ll Do 

• Operate and Optimize: Administer and tune our data security platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Purview, including policy development and configuration. 

• Build Solutions: Design and implement custom detection rules, threat models, and behavioral policies to enhance data protection and manage insider risk. 

• Automate and Integrate: Create automation scripts and workflows to improve efficiency. Integrate our Purview tools with SIEM/SOAR platforms for better alerting and response. 

• Analyze and Improve: Continuously analyze and tune DLP incidents to reduce false positives. 

• Collaborate: Work closely with Security Operations, IT, Legal, and Compliance to align security practices with business and regulatory needs. 

• Innovate: Evaluate new solutions like Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and stay current on the latest data security technologies and threats. 

What You’ll Need 

• Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree. 

• CISSP certification. 

• Strong communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills. 

• Preferred: 

• 5+ years of experience in a technical team. 

• Hands-on experience with core data protection functions like classification, discovery, encryption, and anomaly detection. 

• Certifications like CISSP, GIAC, CYSA, SC-200, or SC-400 are highly valued. 

• You will be leading the strategic definition of data security, working with your direct team and stakeholders to shape both its present state and future direction
