Title: Data Scientist III 
Location: Remote
Type: Contract

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in designing and implementing advanced AI and machine learning solutions, with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI) applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Data Engineering, AI Engineering, and Customer Support—to translate business problems into impactful, data-driven processing, and GenAI tools with strong analytical and communication skills. You will be responsible for developing models and prototypes that drive innovation and measurable value, leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies for scalability and performance.

Responsibilities
AI and Data Science Development

• Design, train, and evaluate machine learning and generative AI models, with a focus on LLMs, NLP, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Develop solutions using Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, and Generative AI Studio on GCP.
• Build and refine data pipelines for data preparation, feature engineering, and experimentation.
• Apply deep learning, NLP, and classical ML algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, and forecasting) to solve real-world problems.
• Fine-tune and evaluate pre-trained LLMs for custom use cases, optimizing performance, efficiency, and accuracy.

Research and Innovation

• Explore and implement state-of-the-art GenAI architectures, prompt engineering, and embedding models for enterprise applications.
• Prototype AI-driven products and features using LangChain, Vertex AI Model Garden, or Hugging Face ecosystems.
• Stay current on trends in AI, LLMs, and GCP services, and identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies into projects.

Collaboration and Communication

• Partner with data engineers and product teams to ensure effective data utilization and deployment of AI solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts, methodologies, and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to defining and improving data science best practices, methodologies, and project frameworks.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and cross-team discussions.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with demonstrated success building and deploying ML models.

Technical Expertise

• Programming: Proficient in Python; familiarity with R, Java, or Node.js is a plus.
• ML Frameworks: Strong experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Generative AI & LLMs: Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG techniques, prompt engineering, and NLP pipelines.
• Cloud Platforms: Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially Vertex AI, BigQuery, and AI Studio.
• Data Management: Skilled in working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data querying, transformation, and analysis.
• Statistical Analysis: Strong grounding in hypothesis testing, feature selection, and experimental design.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in AI and data science.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in an agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer.
• Experience in SaaS, customer experience, or enterprise data systems.
• Familiarity with ethical AI principles and responsible AI development practices.
