Job Title: Procurement Assistant
Location: Houston, TX (5 days per week on site), No remote work is available
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm CST
Type: Contract (Approx. 3 Months)
Overview: Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare organization supporting ENT practices across multiple states. With a focus on patient care and practice expansion, the company is currently entering a high-volume season and seeking additional support in its procurement operations.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Procurement Assistant to support our purchasing and inventory operations during our busy season. This is an onsite role focused on assisting with receiving medical supplies, verifying and logging inventory, and packaging outbound shipments to local clinics. The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, and eager to learn within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming medical supplies and verify accuracy against purchase orders
- Inspect materials and check expiration dates (18+ months shelf life required)
- Log and update inventory in procurement systems (training provided on Jaeger)
- Pick, prepare, and package supplies for delivery to local clinics based on packing lists
- Ensure shipments are accurate, labeled, and ready for courier pickup
- Coordinate with internal courier; deliver urgent items if needed
- Maintain clean, organized inventory and storage space
- Support purchasing lead with administrative tasks and data entry
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliation
- Follow standard operating procedures to support quality and compliance
Qualifications:
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, shipping/receiving, or office/inventory support (entry-level welcome)
- Experience with Excel and at least one software/tool (SAP, Salesforce, Jaeger, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Tech-savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (may deliver urgent items)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working onsite full-time
