Job Title: Workday HCM Consultant
Job Type: Contract (12-Month)
Job Location: Tampa, FL (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Workday HCM Consultant to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 production support and help execute a backlog of enhancement and configuration work while our internal HCM team is allocated to the Workday Financials implementation. The consultant will triage issues in Freshdesk, manage daily work in Jira, and collaborate closely with internal HCM functional leads to maintain stable operations.
Our HCM footprint includes Recruiting, Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Learning, Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking. Deep expertise across all modules is not required, but strong cross-functional experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Ticket Management

  • Monitor, triage, and resolve tickets in the Freshdesk queue
  • Manage day-to-day configuration work, defects, and backlog items in Jira
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support across multiple HCM modules

Configuration & Enhancements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve business process issues, condition rules, routing, approvals, and notifications
  • Make updates to reports, calculated fields, and small configuration changes
  • Support eligibility rules, review frameworks, and other functional components as needed
  • Document changes reliably and consistently

Collaboration & Testing

  • Partner with in-house HCM leads to align on priorities, requirements, and handoffs
  • Support testing cycles for fixes, enhancements, and small change requests
  • Help maintain a predictable and stable support model while SMEs focus on the Financials project

Required Experience

  • Strong Workday HCM configuration experience across multiple functional areas
  • Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 production support
  • Comfortable working in Freshdesk (or a similar support queue) and Jira
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across business processes, reporting, and security
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder partnership skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting Workday during a major transformation or large program
  • Exposure to multiple HCM modules within a COE or centralized platform team
