Job Title: Software Engineer (Back-End Oriented)

Role Overview:
Our client is a Miami-based startup transforming how people interact with government services. Using advanced AI, they streamline complex processes like passports, visas, and vehicle registration — making them faster, easier, and stress-free. They are seeking a Back-End Oriented Software Engineer to design and maintain the systems powering their platform — including real-time communication, telephony, and task routing with Twilio. The engineer will work with Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, REST APIs, and Socket.io, collaborating closely with front-end engineers using Next.js and NestJS to deliver seamless user experiences. This is a hands-on, on-site role where you’ll contribute directly to building scalable systems and improving performance for a fast-growing AI platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize scalable backend services
• Develop and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs
• Implement real-time features using Socket.io and Twilio
• Integrate Twilio Sync, TaskRouter, and Telephony functionalities
• Collaborate with front-end engineers and product teams
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance across the stack
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience building backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Proficient with GraphQL, Typescript, and REST APIs
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database design
• Experience with real-time systems (Socket.io or WebSockets)
• Hands-on experience with Twilio (Sync, TaskRouter, or Telephony)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work on-site in Denver, Colorado
