PACS Administrator / Imaging Systems Specialist
Job Type:3-Month Contract-to-Hire
Location: Remote with Regional Travel (Atlanta, GA)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced PACS Administrator to support and enhance an enterprise imaging environment for a large healthcare organization. This role focuses on advanced technical support, modality management, DICOM troubleshooting, and imaging system integrations across radiology and cardiology workflows.
The environment is currently running on Agfa PACS, with a planned future transition to Sectra PACS expected to begin within the next six months. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level PACS professional who enjoys deep technical work and being hands-on in a complex, clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 PACS support, troubleshooting complex issues across imaging systems, modalities, and integrations
- Support and maintain PACS platforms, with current exposure to Agfa and future work involving Sectra
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot DICOM connectivity, including AE titles, ports, transfer syntaxes (explicit/implicit), and routing rules
- Perform modality management for radiology and cardiology modalities, including worklists, exports, and workflow configuration
- Support and manage DICOM routers, server-side imaging infrastructure, and data flow
- Troubleshoot issues involving servers, storage, third-party imaging applications, and network/firewall dependencies
- Work closely with radiologists, cardiologists, technologists, and clinical teams to ensure efficient imaging workflows
- Support image viewers and understand the day-to-day workflow and needs of clinical end users
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on PACS Administration experience (minimum)
- Experience with Sectra PACS required
- Agfa PACS experience is highly relevant
- Strong background in modality management and DICOM configuration
- Proven ability to perform deep technical troubleshooting beyond basic operational support
- Solid understanding of radiology and cardiology imaging workflows
- Experience supporting third-party imaging applications
- Strong understanding of imaging data flow across PACS environments
- ServiceNow experience is a plus
Work Arrangement & Travel
- Primarily remote, with approximately 20% travel
- Travel will be regional, supporting sites primarily across the Atlanta area
