Position: Database Administrator – MySQL/MariaDB DBA
Location: Panama City, Panama or San Pedro Sula, Honduras 
Type: Direct Hire 

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced MySQL/MariaDB DBA with 3+ years of expertise in database monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning to ensure high levels of data availability and speed. You will work to troubleshoot database bottlenecks, optimize database servers, and drive efficiency to maximize performance.

Experience in database clustering, load testing, and benchmarking is required. A strong background in database administration-level shell scripting is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure new MySQL/MariaDB instances
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance
• Perform database performance tuning
• Set up and maintain disaster recovery strategies, including backups and live replication
• Configure and manage master/master, master/slave, multi-master, and group replications
• Conduct upgrades from older MySQL/MariaDB versions
• Manage database access, users, and authorization policies
• Monitor and manage instance-level performance parameters
• Deliver cost-effective IT services targeting 99.9% availability
• Handle common database tasks such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migration

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in MySQL and MariaDB database administration
• Proficient in MySQL replication (master/master, master/slave, multi-master, group replication)
• Experience with Galera clusters
• Strong DB troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Proficient in shell scripting for database management

Optional Requirements

• Experience with MySQL programming (triggers, events, procedures)
• Familiarity with MySQL Cluster
• Experience with GoldenGate

• Cross-platform data migration tools
