Job Title:  Azure SQL DBA (Hyperscale)
Location: Remote
Job-Type:  Contract
Salary Range: $75 – $125/hr.
Position Overview:
Our customer is a high-growth, multi-tenant SaaS company operating a 24×7 platform.  We are seeking a very senior, hands-on Azure SQL DBA to stabilize, optimize, and harden its cloud database architecture at massive scale.
This is a critical, short-term engagement for a deep cloud DBA who thrives in complex, high-throughput environments and knows how to diagnose and fix issues fast.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the CTO and a small engineering team to investigate reliability, latency, and timeout issues
• Deep-dive into Azure SQL Hyperscale architecture, query performance, indexing, concurrency, and resource utilization
• Identify root causes of lag, downtime, and downstream failures across the system
• Design and implement pragmatic, production-ready solutions to improve performance and uptime
• Help ensure the platform can reliably support billions of monthly transactions in a 24×7 SaaS environment

Required Experience & Skills:

• Extensive experience as a Senior / Principal DBA in cloud-only environments
• Deep expertise with Azure SQL Database (Hyperscale)
• Strong SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills at extreme scale
• Proven success stabilizing mission-critical, always-on SaaS platforms
• Comfortable operating independently and driving solutions end-to-end
• No on-prem background required (Azure-only)
