Job Title: Epic Radiant Analyst
Location: REMOTE
Typer: Contract
Position Summary
The Epic Radiant Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the Epic Radiant application. This role partners closely with Radiology leadership, technologists, radiologists, schedulers, and IT teams to optimize imaging workflows and ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered operations within the Epic environment.
The analyst serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for radiology workflows and ensures alignment with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and Epic best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with radiology stakeholders to gather and document business and clinical requirements.
- Analyze current-state imaging workflows and design optimized future-state workflows in Epic Radiant.
- Lead application design sessions and recommend solutions aligned with Epic Foundation build.
- Translate operational needs into detailed system specifications and documentation.
- Ensure workflows integrate seamlessly with scheduling, orders, results, and billing processes.
- Configure and maintain Epic Radiant components, including:
- Imaging procedures and protocols
- Scheduling templates and visit types
- Order sets and preference lists
- Work queues and workflow rules
- Result routing and reporting workflows
- Build and maintain master files and system profiles.
- Collaborate with PACS and interface teams for imaging integrations.
- Ensure build consistency across DEV, TEST, and PROD environments.
- Participate in change management and release processes.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and scripts (unit, integrated, regression).
- Execute functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Support end-to-end workflow testing across Radiant and integrated applications.
- Coordinate testing with external systems (PACS, modalities, dictation systems).
- Track, document, and resolve defects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Support go-live planning and readiness activities.
- Provide elbow support during implementation and stabilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Monitor system performance and recommend workflow improvements.
- Provide Tier 2/3 application support for Epic Radiant.
- Analyze incidents and implement long-term solutions.
- Support system upgrades and enhancement initiatives.
- Identify workflow optimization opportunities to improve efficiency and patient throughput.
- Participate in governance meetings and roadmap planning.
- Maintain detailed documentation including:
- Design decisions
- Build specifications
- Testing evidence
- Change control documentation
- Ensure system configuration aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Follow organizational security and data governance policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Radiologic Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Epic Radiant certification
- 5+ years of experience supporting Epic applications, preferably Radiant.
- Strong understanding of radiology workflows, scheduling, and imaging procedures.
- Experience with system configuration, testing, and validation.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements.
