Credentialing Specialist (Provider Credentialing & Privileging)
Overview
We’re seeking a Credentialing Specialist to support provider credentialing and privileging for physicians and advanced practice providers. This role focuses on maintaining complete, accurate, and audit-ready provider files and ensuring ongoing compliance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain provider credentialing and privileging files (~195–200 providers)
• Support initial credentialing and improve ongoing re-credentialing maintenance (keeping documents current year-round vs. waiting for renewal cycles)
• Track and update required provider documentation, such as:
  • State licensure
  • DEA certificates
  • Malpractice coverage
  • BLS/required certifications and expirations
• Proactively follow up with providers to obtain missing/updated documentation and resolve file gaps
• Support audit readiness through accurate documentation and internal file reviews
• Partner with HR and payer enrollment/finance teams to ensure clean handoffs and complete documentation
• Use the credentialing system to track records and send reminders

Qualifications
Required

• Hands-on experience with physician and APP credentialing + privileging in a healthcare setting 
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and comfort working in a compliance-driven environment
• Confident communicator able to professionally push for timely documentation from providers

Preferred

• Prior audit support experience
• Nonprofit healthcare experience
