Procurement & Purchasing Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement & Purchasing Lead to oversee sourcing, vendor management, and purchasing activities in support of large-scale mechanical and electrical installation projects. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring materials and equipment are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on schedule to support project execution across multiple sites.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and has experience supporting complex installations such as warehouse automation, material handling systems, or industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiations, and purchase order management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to support project timelines and budget targets

  • Coordinate closely with project management and operations teams to forecast material requirements

  • Track procurement commitments, budgets, and delivery schedules across multiple projects

  • Ensure purchasing documentation, contracts, and vendor agreements are properly maintained

  • Identify opportunities to optimize purchasing strategies and improve supply chain efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience

  • Experience supporting mechanical, electrical, construction, or industrial installation projects preferred

  • Strong vendor negotiation and contract management experience

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement timelines simultaneously

  • Proficiency with procurement systems, ERP platforms, or purchasing tools

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in warehouse automation, material handling, industrial equipment, or construction procurement

  • Experience purchasing mechanical systems, electrical components, or large equipment

  • Familiarity with project-based procurement environments
