Job title: Epic HIM Analyst
Type: Contract
Location: REMOTE with monthly travel to Tampa, FL
Position Summary
The Epic HIM Analyst will contribute to the design, implementation, and support of clinical and enterprise applications that enhance patient care, research, and operational performance. This mid-level role is responsible for delivering technical solutions for moderately complex initiatives, partnering with clinical and operational stakeholders, and sharing technical knowledge with junior analysts.
This individual will play a key role in supporting Epic applications related to Gallery, Deficiency Tracking, Hospital Coding, ROI, and Identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, configure, build, test, implement, and maintain clinical and enterprise applications within the Epic environment
- Support moderately complex system components and application functionality
- Troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, interfaces, and databases
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements as needed
- Perform quality assurance and integrated testing to ensure reliability and alignment with organizational standards
- Support the development of application enhancements and reports tied to clinical and operational priorities
- Create and maintain system documentation, including build specifications
- Provide ongoing operational support for assigned applications
- Collaborate with internal teams and share technical knowledge with junior analysts
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare, or a related field strongly preferred
Required Certifications
- Current, active Epic certification in the following HIM modules:
- Gallery
- Deficiency Tracking
- Hospital Coding
- ROI
- Identity
- Data Courier Badge required
- 5 years of system build experience within an Epic environment
- Proven success supporting high-complexity implementations
- Advanced knowledge of application support and development
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Experience with workflow analysis and/or application solution development preferred
- Experience supporting Epic applications within healthcare operations, such as:
- Clinical
- Billing
- Scheduling
- Access services
- Health Information Management
- Strong understanding of:
- HIM workflows
- Regulatory requirements
- Medical record standards
- Specific build experience within Epic modules supporting HIM workflows and revenue cycle systems
- Excellent presentation and documentation skills
- Experience with healthcare information systems, including both application and data-layer management, preferred
- Experience with systems provisioning, security, and Active Directory structures preferred
- Experience with integration platforms, middleware, and application interfaces preferred
- Experience working within project lifecycle and project management methodologies preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio preferred
- Professional-level certification from an accredited organization in relevant informatics, health information technology, clinical, or business specialties preferred
