Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA)
Duration: 6–12 months
Location: Remote
Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to support execution efforts for a large-scale SQL Server migration project. This role will focus on hands-on execution, monitoring, and support of database migration activities under the guidance of senior team members.
This is an excellent opportunity for a DBA with solid fundamentals to gain experience in enterprise-level migration and high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute database migration tasks using predefined scripts and runbooks
- Support migration from legacy SQL Server environments to modern high-availability configurations
- Monitor database processes and ensure successful execution of migration steps
- Assist with SQL Server replication setup and validation
- Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary
- Support post-migration validation, system checks, and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with senior DBAs and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution
Required Technical Skills
- Experience working with SQL Server databases in production environments
- Strong experience with SQL scripting for querying, maintenance, and execution tasks
- Working knowledge of SQL Server replication concepts and processes
- Experience supporting or participating in database migration efforts
- Ability to follow structured processes and execute tasks with accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to high availability environments (e.g., Always On, clustering)
- Familiarity with automation processes and script execution
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments
