Job Title: Senior Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA)
Location: Remote (West Coast Hours)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $95k-$135k
We are seeking a Senior Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) to support and enhance a complex, enterprise-level Epic environment. This is a highly specialized role focused on Epic systems, integrations, and performance, with an emphasis on Interconnect, upgrades, and multi-environment management.
This position is ideal for someone who is deeply experienced in Epic infrastructure, enjoys working on high-impact projects, and takes pride in building systems that directly support patient care and clinical operations.
What You’ll Do
Lead Epic System Projects (Primary Focus)
- Support multiple concurrent Epic initiatives across ~17 environments
- Lead and contribute to:
- Epic Interconnect integrations
- 3rd-party system and device integrations
- Epic installations and environment builds
- Prepare and complete technical tasks required prior to Epic analyst configuration
- Support cloud-related initiatives and future-state architecture
Manage Upgrades & Enhancements
- Support 2 major Epic upgrades annually
- Perform:
- System patching
- Epic version updates
- OS and architecture-level changes
- Ensure minimal disruption and high system availability
Maintain & Optimize Epic Systems
- Monitor system performance and health
- Ensure alignment with Epic best practices
- Identify and implement improvements to system configuration and performance
- Troubleshoot complex system and integration issues
Work Independently & Drive Outcomes
- Own project deliverables end-to-end
- Prioritize and manage workload across multiple initiatives
- Collaborate with analysts, infrastructure teams, and vendors as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
- 6–8+ years of experience in Epic systems administration
- Proven experience supporting enterprise Epic environments
- Strong tenure and demonstrated career progression
Epic Expertise (Critical)
- Certified Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA)
- Deep understanding of Epic architecture and server applications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Epic installations
- Upgrades
- Multi-environment management
- Strong knowledge of Epic Interconnect and system integrations
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of:
- Windows Server environments
- Application hosting and system configuration
- Ability to determine:
- What Epic components should/should not be installed
- How systems should be configured for optimal performance
- Experience with:
- Integration workflows and interoperability
- Troubleshooting complex system issues
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments
- Background in system security or compliance
- Exposure to cloud environments and migration initiatives
- Advanced certificates in Citrix, Firewall, SAN, Cyber security, Network+, Security+, Backup and Recovery, Cloud technologies, MCITP, MCTS, MCSA, CISSP or CCNA’ etc.
