Job Title: IT Hardware Technician
Type: Contract (6-12 months)
Location: Onsite, multiple locations across Rochester, NY
Responsibilities
Support large-scale hardware refresh and Windows 11 deployment initiatives across multiple healthcare campuses

  • Perform imaging, deployment, and configuration of desktops, laptops, and related hardware devices
  • Conduct BIOS upgrades, Windows updates, and device assessments to determine Windows 11 compatibility
  • Deploy and replace end-user devices in both clinical and non-clinical environments
  • Assist with device provisioning and rollout activities utilizing modern deployment methodologies such as Autopilot when applicable
  • Travel between Rochester-area facilities and campuses as required based on deployment schedules
  • Coordinate with internal project teams and customer stakeholders to ensure timely device deployment and refresh completion
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, imaging, and deployment-related issues during rollout activities
  • Maintain professionalism and strong communication while supporting end users onsite
  • Follow deployment procedures, operational standards, and project timelines established by the customers

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in desktop support, hardware deployment, imaging, or refresh projects
  • Strong experience with Windows operating systems and hardware troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience imaging and deploying desktops and laptops in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with BIOS upgrades, firmware updates, and Windows 11 readiness activities
  • Experience supporting device refresh or large-scale deployment initiatives preferred
  • Understanding of device provisioning and deployment tools such as Autopilot preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced onsite environment
  • Comfortable traveling between multiple Rochester-area locations as needed
  • Must be able to work fully onsite
