Product Owner
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to help drive the delivery of digital products and technology solutions that create meaningful value for both customers and the business. This individual will serve as the voice of the customer, partnering closely with business stakeholders and agile delivery teams to define priorities, manage the product backlog, and ensure solutions align with strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with technical understanding and has experience guiding products through the full lifecycle in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Product Strategy
- Define and maintain product roadmaps that align with organizational priorities and long-term objectives.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, users, and technology teams to ensure product goals and expectations are clearly understood.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and desired outcomes.
- Drive adoption and engagement by measuring product performance and business value.
- Communicate delivery timelines, capabilities, and priorities to stakeholders and leadership.
- Facilitate collaboration across business and technical teams to maximize product value.
Product Delivery & Execution
- Gather requirements and translate business needs into epics, features, and user stories with both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog based on business goals and customer needs.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and other agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to estimate work and support issue resolution.
- Establish and maintain feedback loops using customer input, operational metrics, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Define and maintain acceptance criteria, definitions of done, and quality standards.
- Identify and remove obstacles that could impact delivery.
- Partner with project managers, technical leaders, and scrum teams to ensure effective execution and adherence to agile practices.
- Support governance activities related to product management, data, security, and usage.
- Manage product investments across initiatives and lifecycle activities.
- Lead large, cross-functional initiatives with strategic impact.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of experience in information technology, product management, business analysis, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years working within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience serving as a Product Owner or similar role supporting software development teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and product management principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including data-driven decision making.
- Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with agile planning and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Solid project management and prioritization skills.
- Experience applying user-centered design and design-thinking principles.
Preferred
- Product Owner certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).
- Experience supporting healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
