Sr. Design Thinking Strategist
Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (3 days onsite) | Contract (1 year+)

We are hiring a Senior Design Thinking Strategist for a well-known enterprise client in Charlotte. This is a long-term contract role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads with curiosity, and knows how to move organizations from problem definition to solutions people actually want to use.

If you have a consulting mindset, a strong research background, and a track record of facilitating workshops that drive real decisions, this is worth a conversation.

What You Will Do
• Frame opportunities with clients and lead research activities from conception through deployment
• Plan, conduct, and interpret user research including stakeholder interviews, usability evaluations, and concept validation
• Design and facilitate cross-functional workshops at various levels of leadership to drive problem definition, ideation, and requirements gathering
• Translate research insights into actionable artifacts including personas, customer journeys, and service blueprints
• Partner closely with clients to build shared understanding and alignment around human-centered design approaches
• Coach product leadership on strategic decision-making and product mindset
• Collaborate with change management from definition through testing to shape change strategies and training programs
• Communicate complex concepts in written and visual formats to align stakeholders throughout the product cycle

What You Bring
• 3 to 5 years of experience in design research, product strategy, and/or service design
• Portfolio that reflects the full product cycle from initial conception through build and deployment
• Extensive experience planning and facilitating cross-functional workshops with senior and executive stakeholders
• Strong storytelling and narrative skills to influence and guide leaders throughout complex engagements
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments with a bias toward action
• Local to Charlotte and available for a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite required)

• Consulting background with experience navigating ambiguous client engagements
• Experience in business strategy and value assessment
• Experience designing AI-enabled solutions
• Familiarity with change management frameworks
