Principal Post-Award Contract Administrator – Major Capital Projects
Location: Hybrid – Oakland, CA, San Ramon, CA, or Houston, TX (remote flexibility based on business needs)

We are seeking an experienced Principal Post-Award Contract Administrator to support large-scale capital infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for administering complex contracts after award, ensuring contractual compliance, managing supplier performance, mitigating risk, and partnering with project teams to drive successful project execution.
As a key member of the procurement organization, you will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, legal, and project leadership to ensure contracts are executed efficiently while maintaining cost controls, schedule commitments, and contractual integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage complex post-award contracts for major capital projects.
- Ensure contract compliance, governance, and adherence to commercial terms and conditions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, suppliers, procurement, and legal.
- Monitor supplier performance, contract deliverables, milestones, and obligations.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks while resolving commercial issues and disputes.
- Manage contract modifications, amendments, change orders, claims, and closeout activities.
- Support cost control efforts by tracking contract performance and financial commitments.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve contract administration processes and procurement best practices.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience administering complex post-award contracts for large capital, engineering, utility, energy, construction, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement, supplier management, and commercial terms.
- Experience managing change orders, claims, negotiations, and contract compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, construction, legal, procurement, finance, and project management teams.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with ERP or contract management systems is preferred.
Preferred Background
- Utility, energy, EPC, infrastructure, heavy industrial, or large capital project experience.
- Knowledge of procurement lifecycle and supplier performance management.
- Familiarity with contract governance, commercial risk management, and regulatory compliance.
