Data Engineer / Data Analyst (Hybrid – Dublin, CA)

Location: Dublin, CA (Hybrid, 1–2 days onsite per week)
Duration: Long-term contract (Starting at 12 months)
Pay Range: $75/HR – $95/HR

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a Data Engineer to support a growing infrastructure analytics team responsible for managing large-scale capital investment data. As the organization continues expanding its utility infrastructure to support new customers and increased demand, this team plays a critical role in tracking project costs, analyzing trends, and delivering data-driven insights to internal business stakeholders.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, building scalable data solutions, and partnering with business teams to improve reporting and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based data solutions supporting infrastructure and capital planning initiatives.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for large, complex datasets.
  • Assist with migrating data from SQL Server to Snowflake and help design scalable cloud-based data architecture.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from enterprise systems, including SAP.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Write SQL and Python scripts for data transformation, quality control, automation, and statistical analysis.
  • Perform data modeling and identify efficient approaches for storing and managing tens of millions of records.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand reporting requirements and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Advanced SQL development skills.
  • Experience designing and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Strong experience working with large, high-volume datasets.
  • Proficiency with Python for scripting, automation, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake, including data migration or cloud data warehouse implementations.
  • Experience working with SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with SAP data structures or ERP reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other modern cloud data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse best practices.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with approximately 1–2 days onsite each week in Dublin, CA.
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.
