What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled Hybrid Infrastructure Administrator to manage, maintain, and modernize our enterprise infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in traditional systems administration, including servers, virtualization, networking, storage, Active Directory, and firewall management, while also demonstrating hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud technologies.

This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business operations. The successful candidate will have experience designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid infrastructure solutions that integrate on-premises systems with cloud services. Strong expertise in VMware, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), vendor management, and project delivery is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills who can effectively support operational requirements while driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premise server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers.
  • Manage and configure network components, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Implement and manage firewall rule configurations to maintain a secure network environment.
  • Monitor and maintain system health, ensuring high availability and performance of critical resources.
  • Perform server operating system upgrades and manage vendor patching.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware.
  • Administer and support hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and related cloud services.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure, networking, security controls, and monitoring solutions.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to streamline system administration and provisioning tasks.
  • Perform routine system audits, updates, and patches to ensure systems remain compliant with security and operational standards.
  • Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, providing excellent user support.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational changes accurately.
  • Administer and manage Active Directory (AD) and domain controllers, ensuring proper configuration and maintenance.
  • Create and manage Group Policies (GPOs) to enforce security and compliance requirements.
  • Administer and manage firewalls, including SonicWall and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Manage enterprise storage solutions including Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, and Avamar.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring the timely procurement of IT resources and services.
  • Lead and participate in infrastructure and cloud migration projects, ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and users to provide clear updates and technical support.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, reports, architecture diagrams, and project updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong expertise supporting enterprise on-premises infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, storage, virtualization, and networking technologies.
  • Hands-on experience administering VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid environments that integrate on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity management, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Strong knowledge of network configuration and management, including firewall administration.
  • Experience administering Active Directory, domain controllers, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with SonicWall and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Knowledge of storage solutions including Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, and Avamar.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure initiatives.
  • Strong soft skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive, self-motivated attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as:
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
    • AWS Solutions Architect Associate
    • Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect
    • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
    • VMware VCP
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
  • Experience with other system administration tools and technologies (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and documentation standards.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and documentation standards.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, or similar tools.
