Database Analyst / Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Hybrid – Charlotte, NC area
Duration: 6 months+

We are seeking a Database Analyst / Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise database environments within an infrastructure-focused IT organization. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, security, and performance of database management systems while ensuring production, staging, and quality assurance databases remain available, reliable, and optimized.

The ideal candidate will have strong database administration experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved database performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, support, and maintain database management systems in enterprise environments.
  • Provide database administration support for production, staging, and quality assurance database environments.
  • Monitor database availability, performance, security, and overall health.
  • Perform database maintenance activities including backup, recovery, integrity checks, and performance optimization.
  • Manage database access, security controls, and data protection practices.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support to application teams, infrastructure teams, and business partners.
  • Analyze database performance and recommend improvements to enhance application and infrastructure operations.
  • Support database design, file structures, data access methods, and retrieval strategies.
  • Partner with IT leadership and technical teams to evaluate technology improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Provide database expertise and guidance to development teams supporting business applications.
  • Document database processes, procedures, and technical solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting database management systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with SQL and database programming languages such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQL, or Python.
  • Understanding of database design concepts, file structures, data retrieval methods, and access strategies.
  • Experience troubleshooting database issues and supporting production environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), Database Analyst, or Database Engineer.
  • Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
