Title: NetSuite Platform Lead
Type: Contract

Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Finance Platforms consultant to provide interim leadership and product ownership for the company’s Finance technology ecosystem while we recruit a permanent Director of Finance Platforms.
This engagement will focus on maintaining platform stability, driving Finance technology initiatives, managing priorities across Finance systems, and serving as the primary liaison between Finance stakeholders, technology teams, implementation partners, and vendors.
The contractor will work closely with Accounting, Finance, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Systems teams to support ongoing operations, process improvements, automation initiatives, system enhancements, and strategic roadmap execution across the Finance technology portfolio. The Finance Platforms domain includes NetSuite ERP and supporting applications such as Avalara, Concur, Navan, MineralTree, Trintech, StrongPoint, and related Finance technologies.

Responsibilities
Finance Platform Product Ownership

• Own and manage the Finance systems backlog and enhancement queue.
• Facilitate intake, prioritization, requirements gathering, and solution planning.
• Partner with Finance leaders to align technology investments to business priorities.
• Lead roadmap discussions and recommend sequencing of initiatives.
• Drive governance and decision-making across competing priorities.

NetSuite & Finance Systems Leadership

• Act as the day-to-day business owner for NetSuite and Finance applications.
• Coordinate with internal engineering resources and managed service providers.
• Support platform enhancements, configuration reviews, testing, deployment planning, and issue resolution.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Business Process Optimization

• Support improvements across:
  • Record-to-Report
  • Procure-to-Pay
  • Month-End Close
  • Accounts Payable
  • Expense Management
  • Treasury
  • Tax
  • Financial Reporting
• Document current-state and future-state processes.
• Recommend best practices and industry-standard approaches.

Project & Vendor Management

• Coordinate third-party vendors, consultants, and system integrators.
• Track project deliverables, risks, decisions, action items, and dependencies.
• Provide regular status reporting to Finance and Technology leadership.
• Support business case development and platform evaluations.

Compliance & Governance

• Support SOX compliance activities and audit readiness efforts.
• Participate in access reviews, control validation, change management, and release governance.
• Ensure documentation and operating procedures remain current.

Required Skills

• 8+ years supporting ERP and Finance technology platforms.
• Strong NetSuite ERP experience.
• Experience serving as:
  • Product Owner
  • Finance Systems Lead
  • ERP Manager
  • ERP Program Lead
  • Finance Technology Consultant
• Strong understanding of:
  • Accounting operations
  • Financial close processes
  • Procure-to-Pay
  • SOX controls
