Job Title: Sr IT Technical Engineer/Analyst- Firewalls
Location: Brazil (Fully remote working for a U.S. Based company)

Overview
The Sr IT Technical Engineer/Analyst- Firewalls is responsible for leading the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of firewall and network security solutions within a global technology environment. This role serves as a senior technical resource and architect for secure network infrastructure, helping design, validate, and deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective security solutions.
This individual will work closely with internal leadership, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to support system delivery, operational stability, and ongoing enhancements across the network security landscape. The role also plays a key part in troubleshooting complex issues, developing standards, supporting project planning, and producing technical documentation. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on firewall and network security expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to lead initiatives across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Firewall Engineering and Technical Leadership
- Lead the implementation, administration, and support of firewall and network security solutions across a global environment.
- Serve as the senior technical lead for firewall design, deployment, upgrades, and operational support.
- Partner with leadership, internal teams, and vendors to develop, review, approve, and validate technical solution designs.
- Ensure firewall and network security solutions are delivered accurately, securely, and in alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for new initiatives, system enhancements, and infrastructure improvements.
Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
- Investigate complex firewall, network, and security-related incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop corrective actions and long-term improvements to enhance performance, availability, and security posture.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of technical standards, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across firewall, cloud security, and broader network security environments.
Project Planning and Demand Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, priorities, sprint plans, and resource requirements.
- Manage incoming work and support demand across firewall and network security systems.
- Apply cost-conscious decision making and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational expense.
- Support successful planning and execution of projects across domestic and international teams.
Technical Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare technical assessments, design documents, white papers, evaluation summaries, and operational readiness plans.
- Document firewall configurations, network security designs, support procedures, and technical recommendations.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise network security and firewall engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms and network security technologies
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones
- Proven success managing vendors and holding managed service providers accountable
- Hands-on knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, SD-WAN, routing protocols, Azure, Cisco ISE, Infoblox, and SASE solutions
- Experience designing and architecting firewall, network, and cloud security solutions
- Strong familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive technical projects to completion
