Senior Wireless / Network Engineer
Location: Hybrid (80% remote / 20% Hybrid)
Direct Hire

We are seeking a Senior Wireless / Network Engineer to support complex enterprise healthcare environments across multiple client sites. This is a hands-on senior role focused on Cisco wireless, with strong route/switch skills required to support the wired infrastructure behind large wireless networks.
Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot enterprise Cisco wireless environments
• Diagnose issues involving connectivity, roaming, interference, authentication, and performance
• Support both modern and legacy Cisco wireless controller environments
• Troubleshoot the wired network infrastructure supporting wireless services
• Perform or support active and passive wireless surveys
• Contribute to assessments, documentation, and client-facing findings
• Communicate with internal teams and client stakeholders
• Mentor other engineers on wireless/network best practices

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in wireless/network engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco wireless technologies
• Experience with Cisco 9800 series wireless controllers
• Experience with legacy Cisco wireless controllers including 5508 and 8510
• Strong understanding of wireless concepts including signal propagation, overlap, roaming, interference, and troubleshooting
• Experience with active and passive wireless surveys
• Experience with Ekahau Survey Pro or similar tools
• Strong enterprise networking background including:
  • Cisco Catalyst 9200, 9300, and 9500
  • VLANs
  • Layer 2 / Layer 3
  • routing fundamentals
  • switching architecture
  • Spanning Tree / Rapid Spanning Tree
• Experience with RADIUS authentication
• Knowledge of EAP authentication methods such as EAP-TLS, PEAP, EAP-FAST, and TTLS
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare or hospital environment experience
• Aruba exposure
• Change control experience
• Strong documentation/reporting skills
• Experience mentoring other engineers

Work Environment

• Primarily remote
• Some travel/on-site work required
• Preference for candidates in the East or Central U.S.
