Job Title: Release Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Type: Contract to Hire

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (BitBucket, TeamCity, etc.) to automate build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Manage release branching strategies, merge schedules, and versioning conventions across multiple teams and repositories
  • Coordinate release planning and scheduling with engineering, QA, and product stakeholders
  • Own the release runbook process — documenting deployment steps and rollback procedures
  • Monitor deployments and drive post-release validation; lead root cause analysis for release failures
  • Collaborate with platform/DevOps teams to maintain environment parity between dev, staging, and production
  • Drive continuous improvement in release frequency, lead time, and deployment success rate

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a release engineering, DevOps, or build engineering role
  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools
  • Solid understanding of Git workflows — branching models, tagging, cherry-pick strategies, and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with containerization and o
  • rchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous release trains

Nice to have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-native deployment platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge in the insurance industry, especially P&C
