Construction & Renovation Project Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction & Renovation Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of facility construction, renovation, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects. This individual will oversee projects from initial planning through completion while managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
Project Management

  • Lead construction and renovation projects from planning and design through construction, occupancy, and project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Define project objectives, scope, milestones, and deliverables in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, budget, or resource challenges.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality expectations.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, design reviews, construction meetings, and project status updates.
  • Build strong working relationships with business leaders, facilities teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and key decisions to leadership.

Design & Construction Oversight

  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, and other external partners.
  • Review design documents, construction drawings, specifications, and project estimates.
  • Support procurement activities, contractor selection, contract administration, and bid evaluations.
  • Monitor construction activities, inspections, commissioning, and project quality.

Budget & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage change orders, contract modifications, and contingency spending.
  • Prepare financial reports and project updates for leadership.

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct site visits, quality reviews, and project audits.
  • Escalate significant project issues with recommended solutions.

Operational Planning

  • Coordinate project activities to minimize disruption to day-to-day operations.
  • Develop occupancy and transition plans for renovated or newly constructed spaces.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, move activities, and project turnover.
  • Support operational readiness through project completion.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, contracts, meeting minutes, drawings, permits, and project documentation.
  • Prepare project status reports and executive presentations.
  • Track project milestones, action items, risks, and overall project performance.
  • Support project governance and portfolio reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience managing commercial construction or renovation projects.
  • Experience working in healthcare, higher education, research, or other large institutional environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing construction or capital improvement projects from initiation through completion.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Position Overview
This role manages projects ranging from small facility renovations to large capital improvement initiatives. The Project Manager partners with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.
