Job Title: Solutions Architect
Location: Remote
Job-Type: 3-month contract possible extend
Salary Range: $190 to $200 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the discovery, solution design, and implementation planning for the Water Measurement Data Dashboard initiative. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, GIS specialists, and UX designers to define the future-state architecture and create a strategic roadmap for delivering a secure, scalable, cloud-based water measurement platform.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in enterprise solution architecture, cloud technologies, API integration, and modern application design, with experience integrating GIS and environmental data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders to gather functional and technical requirements.
- Design the overall solution architecture for the Water Measurement Data Dashboard.
- Refine user experience (UX) designs and collaborate on high-fidelity Figma prototypes.
- Develop integration strategies for GIS/ArcGIS and HydroServer platforms.
- Define API integration patterns and data exchange strategies between internal and external systems.
- Create implementation roadmaps, product backlogs, and phased delivery plans.
- Design secure, scalable cloud architecture aligned with industry best practices.
- Develop system architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical artifacts.
- Collaborate with development teams to establish DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD best practices.
- Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, maintainability, and long-term modernization objectives.
- Provide technical leadership throughout planning and implementation phases.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise Solution Architecture.
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful API integrations.
- Experience with UX/UI design collaboration and Figma.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and iterative software delivery.
- Experience with DevOps practices, GitHub, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience producing technical architecture documentation and implementation plans.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water resources, environmental monitoring, or scientific data systems.
- Knowledge of environmental data platforms and data management.
- Experience with GIS technologies, including ArcGIS and spatial data integration.
- Experience designing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with HydroServer architecture and hydrologic data management.
- Experience with legacy modernization strategies, including the Strangler Fig pattern.
