CLIENT OVERVIEW

Large multi-state integrated network of physician clinics, outpatient centers and hospitals headquartered in North Carolina. In 2021 this health system announced the $1.5 billion dollar acquisition of a regional medical center in order to support the organization’s growth by acquisition business goals. In addition to a large-scale ERP implementation and redesign of the website, this Epic to Epic integration was part of a three-pronged digital transformation initiative.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As one piece of the three-pronged digital transformation initiative, this health system’s goal was to complete an Epic to Epic integration. As one of the first Health Systems in the nation to do this at the time it was a huge challenge for the Enterprise Information Management team (EIM) to provide the single largest Epic to Epic integration in the organizations history.

Keep in mind, at the same time, the executive team was also completely redesigning the website for the health system. This multi-year project was going to focus on building a proprietary website that allows for a better patient experience. Lastly, the organization was beginning a system wide ERP implementation to the latest version of Infor, V11.

The organization was looking to tackle three massive challenges, all simultaneously, and they needed staff augmentation assistance in these skillsets. Talent was being moved to different projects that they had not yet worked on before in their career and identifying talent that would bring subject matter expertise in all three of these initiatives was going to be crucial.

As needs arose with the EIM team, Gravity was able to leverage our team of internal recrtuiers to quickly and thoroughly identify, vet, and place top technical talent in these in demand skillsets and alleviate core Epic skill gaps.

Health System was acquiring a smaller regional health system and was going through an Epic-to-Epic integration of two separate systems. Our client needed certified Epic talent that understood the specific use case of an Epic to Epic integration in order to successful transfer pertinent data.

RESULTS

Over a 24-month span, Gravity was able to place over 25 seasoned professionals who assisted in all three of the major initiatives. Specifically within Epic, the skillsets above were successfully placed and drive results for the health system. The Epic to Epic conversion is still a major ongoing initiative as other projects have taken priority. We continue to assist.
