AI Engineer (Contract | Hybrid)
Location: Charlotte, NC (3 days a week)

We’re looking for a contract AI Engineer to support the operationalization and reliability of emerging AI platforms and agent-based services. This is a time-bound engagement focused on taking AI platforms from development into production-grade operation.

What You’ll Do

— Partner with platform, architecture, and cloud engineering teams to operationalize AI platforms and agents into production environments

— Define and implement reliability standards covering availability, scalability, resiliency, and performance

— Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability across compute, data pipelines, model inference, and orchestration layers

— Integrate AI platform monitoring into enterprise incident management tooling

— Provide break/fix and proactive operational support; lead incident triage, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews

— Apply SRE principles (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, automation-first) to AI platform operations

— Automate deployment, monitoring, validation, and recovery tasks for AI services

— Ensure AI platforms conform to security, compliance, and risk management standards

What You’ll Need

— Background in SRE, Production Engineering, or Platform Operations

— Hands-on experience supporting AI/ML platforms or agent-based services in production

— Strong grasp of reliability, observability, and incident management principles

— Cloud experience in Azure

— Familiarity with Kubernetes or equivalent containerized environments

— Experience building monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for distributed systems

— Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
