Columbus’s Managing Partner & Team
Columbus, Ohio, September 6, 2023 – This month we’re shining the spotlight on our Columbus, Ohio office!
Led by Managing Partner Keith Miner, our Columbus location recently moved into a brand new space as the office celebrated its 3rd anniversary this August. Each of Gravity’s offices is unique and although you will see similarities, we strive to choose locations that will benefit our employees and enable their involvement in their local communities.
Keith has lived in Columbus since 1997 when he moved there right out of college for work. Over the years, he’s grown to love Columbus for its vibrant and inclusive community, diverse economy, and great schools for his family.
When asked about his leadership style, Keith shared that he celebrates employee wins both in the moment during stand-up meetings and through company-wide GroupMe messages. He also encourages his team to give back by volunteering with local organizations that provide tech education and job skills. During the holidays, the Columbus office runs food and donation drives and adopts families in need.
Keith strives to seize every opportunity to support each team member’s career development by including them in client calls and client meetings so that they can learn and ask questions. A Gravity practice is to promote from within, so many Gravity employees will train not only for their current job but for the next step in their Gravity careers. “After my first conversation with Rick, Steve and Keith, I knew Gravity was the place for me. Gravity provides you with endless personal and professional growth. Having the growth opportunities and working for such dedicated leaders made my decision easy”, shared Kyler Damn, who started his career with Gravity in Columbus in January 2022 as a Technical Recruiter and was promoted to Account Manager in November 2022.
Connectivity is a core value at Gravity IT, and Keith fosters this by having his team engage with the Columbus community through volunteering, fundraising, and supporting local charities and scholarships. He also encourages engaging as a team outside of the office and exploring the local community.
Why Choose Gravity’s Columbus Location
Columbus offers an attractive quality of life that landed it on several “best places to live” lists this year. The city ranked #17 out of the top 150 U.S. metro areas in Livability’s 2022 study. Factors included affordable housing, job opportunities, and access to amenities.
The tech industry is booming in Columbus. This growing tech hub means more high-paying jobs in fields like engineering, programming, and data science.
Columbus earned a top 20 spot in the New York Times’ ranking of best cities for Generation Z to live based on job availability, diversity, affordability and activities. With over 60 college campuses in the metro area, including major schools like Ohio State, Columbus appeals to young people starting careers. Its relatively low cost of living also allows savings on housing and entertainment.
With its combination of economic growth, tech sector opportunities, and vibrant social scene, Columbus is an appealing location for young professionals and families alike. The city offers accessibility to jobs and culture on par with major coastal cities but with lower living expenses.
